About

We’ve been on the other side of the desk.

Before we built registration systems, we sat at the registration desk. We made the badges and the certificates, talked to the speakers and the sponsors, and answered attendees asking the same question for the tenth time.

Plus medical workshops we ran end to end: the speaker, the sponsor, the attendees, the badges, the certificates.

Two dentists-to-be. In their final year.

We’re both in our sixth and final year at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Carol Davila University in Bucharest — on a scholarship every single year. We both graduated from Mihai Viteazul National College. We’re both from Bucharest.

Medicine taught us three things we apply to every project: protocol beats inspiration; the small detail is the one that decides; and the person in front of you is usually afraid of something they won’t say.

We started in the hardest room there is: the dental chair.

Our first website was for a dental practice in an old house in central Bucharest. That’s where we learned the rule we’ve worked by ever since: a website doesn’t exist to look good. It exists so the person reading it takes the next step — calls, registers, asks for a quote.

On a dental website, the visitor is afraid. If you can turn fear into a booked appointment, you can explain anything. So we did, one client at a time: a pump that brings pressure down to a billionth of a millibar. A floor that warms evenly under bare feet. A congress that has met every May since 2004, without skipping a year.

We don’t have a house style. We have clients.

None of our websites looks like another. That’s not an accident — it’s the method. Each client gets an identity drawn from what they already have and no one else can: their space, their people, their craft. Mara calls it a costume.

We measure before we draw.

  • #8A6B4C

The walnut on a dental practice’s walls, measured in photographs, became the colour of its website.

  • 4.5 : 1

The minimum contrast of any text — measured pixel by pixel, over photographs too, not guessed.

  • EN 1264

We read the European standard before drawing a single heating pipe.

  • ș, ț

Typefaces are tested on the accented letters of every language before they’re allowed to be beautiful.

218. That’s how many frames it took for one scene to go from “you can see the seams” to “brilliant”. The idea was the same. The execution decided. It’s been our unit of measure ever since.

Two people, from the first call to launch day.

Design and code

Does design and code: from the measured palette to the last line of the registration system. German C1, English C1.

Art direction and clients

Leads art direction: how each client looks, in what material, in what light. And she’s usually the first voice you hear — she makes the calls. French B2, English C1.

We never hand your project to a junior once you’ve signed. The people you talk to are the people who do the work.

We’ll talk to you in English, Romanian, French and German. The website speaks two more: Italian and Spanish.

Let’s talk.

Tell us what you do and who it’s for. The two of us will answer — not a bot, not a junior.
